Committed to sharing their blessings with those less fortunate, the Magnussen Group of companies supports two important international charities, Kiva and CH Global.
Kiva works to alleviate poverty in the developing world through the highly sucessful micro-lending model. Using the World's first person-to-person micro-lending website - www.kiva.com - this innovative non-profit organization empowers donors to loan funds directly to individual entrepreneurs. In the developing nations served by Kiva, a micro-loan of as little as $100 can empower an individual to start a new business, lift himself or herself out of poverty and create much-needed economic activity in their local area. As the loan is paid back, the money is reinvested in other entrepreneurs, stimulating even more economic growth.
CH Global also serves people in the developing world, but focuses its resources on individuals whose disabilities create exceptional needs. A faith-based organization and registered Canadian charity, CH Global was founded in 1991. Responding to the staggering needs of disabled persons in developing countries, it focuses on improving living conditions, championing human rights, promoting social awareness, providing education and training to create greater opportunities for its clients.
”At Magnussen Home, we want our business to be a force for positive change,” says company CEO Richard Magnussen.
